Product Information
For coffee that's as fresh as the neighborhood coffee shop, but served at home, try Cuisinart's Automatic Grind and Brew coffeemaker. It makes it easy to enjoy fresh coffee with the utmost convenience--ground whole-bean coffee pours directly into the filter basket at a pre-set time for instant brewing. The maker does all the thinking, with a range of programmable features: set the machine to grind and brew at exactly the right time, predetermine the coffee's temperature, and program the machine to turn off a half-hour later. Other features take the guess work out of coffeemaking as well: the flavor setting ensures the optimal amount of water is used for a rich, aromatic taste and no acidity or bitterness, and the large easy-view water window makes sure the right amount of water is added. The gold-tone permanent filter also enhances coffee flavor for a hardy, rich taste. A self-clean feature lets you know when calcium buildup is interfering with the machine's operation; turn on the self-clean cycle to make quick work of grime. Daily cleaning of the machine is somewhat involved since all individual parts must be removed, so prepare for slightly longer clean up in exchange for time-saving upfront. Two additional caveats: The grinder is noisy, as most grinders are, and cannot be turned off midgrind. And the coffee bar is taller than average coffee machines, so make sure you have a spot for it with plenty of below cupboard space. --Emily Wolf

The One and Only
We bought the reconditioned model of this coffee maker about four months ago, and we're enjoying freshly ground/brewed coffee daily. I agree with the other reviewer, that there are a lot of goopy parts to clean each time. Honestly, however, we don't even have a dishwasher, and it's not too bad. For us, counter space is limited, and not having to have a separate grinder is very convenient. There were no signs that the unit was "used" or reconditioned; looked like new. We bought the gold tone filter separately, but that ended up just being another thing to wash, so we're back to paper filters.I've never made such tasty coffee at home before. The option to set the maker to your cup preference really does seem to make a difference. I'd recommend it to anyone who appreciates a fine, fresh brew, and doesn't want to invest in a $100+ coffee maker

I ordered this coffee maker with great anticipation of no longer needing a seperate grinder, but unfortunately this coffee maker did not suit my personal needs. First, you have to measure your coffee beans for each pot. Then you put them into the mini grinder in the top of the pot. You cannot store beans there, you must do it each time. Secondly, you have to measure your water. My other coffee maker uses only the amount of water for the amount of cups you have selected, no matter how much water is in it. Third, several parts must be washed after each and every use. I could imagine this would work well for someone who only enjoys coffee in the morning. You could get out your beans, put them into the grinder, measure and fill the water reservoir, then after your coffee is made you have to take apart the 2 grinder pieces since they are now all steamy with grounds sticking to them, as well as the filter basket and wash them. For me, that is just too much work considering I don't want to wash these things each time. Also, it is missing the Gold Tone Filter and the Coffee Scoop that was stated as being included in the description. On a positive note, the flavor of the coffee in this machine was superior to my current coffee maker. It has a flavor feature which adjusts the water and temperature based on how many cups you are making. It actually works! I would recommend the non factory reconditioned model because you would get the gold tone filter, coffee scoop, and longer warranty period.

I love it! I used to do my own grinding of beans before making the coffee, and this is so much simpler! The service was great also.
