This unit has some many really nice features(everything I wanted anyway):1)A resonably viewable clock (analog)2)Delay setting up to 24 hours-(great if you want to set up your coffe the night before and have it waiting for you when you get up. Also useful for after-dinner coffee, etc.)3)alert for when coffee is done That YOU CAN TURN OFF if you don't want the noise.4)brew strength setting: strong and regular (I only use strong, so no idea what regular tastes like)5)warmer temp that adjusts from "-" to "+". Not sure how this measures in actual degrees but about 2/3 to plus was plenty hot for me.6) permanent gold filter and replaceable water filter7) well-designed carafe-no drips8) self-cleaning cycle(fill resevoir with water or vinegar & water and push cleaning buttonI had no problems with leaks, and the coffee always tasted good.My only complaint is that the unit lasted a little under 2 years, but for the price,a really good coffee maker. I will probably buy another one. I gave it 4 stars, but I'd actually give it 4.5 if I could.

I ordered this coffee maker a few weeks ago, but it's not the coffee maker amazon sent me. the one i got doesnt have that timer on it, it doesnt have the heat control dial, nor does it have the metal filter. i called amazon to ask why i received this downgrade coffee maker, they said products may vary and its somewhere in the fine print of the website. i still think its ridiculous that i paid for something i researched, and got something different. but the one they sent me has grown on me i guess. it does make good coffee, even with the paper filters. the delay setting works well, i havent experienced any leaking or overflow, which is nice.
