Strange Happenings

Ordered from JR thru Amazon. Item came without charcoal water filter and clock did not go to pm, thus auto-brew would not function. Called JR, who referred me to Saeco, in spite of the fact I just received it defective and incomplete from JR. Called Saeco and they blew me off totally!! Since coffee pot appeared to be quality made, I requested a replacement from JR. JR refused to send another one until they received defective one back. Since we are talking about coffee pots, starting the day without a cup of coffee is not an option. Didn't matter to them, so I purchased another of same. It arrived with IDENTICAL DEFECTS, no filter, non working clock. At this point I had enough of JR and Saeco and ordered a Cuisinart from Amazon, at 1/2 the price. Cuisinart was a step below the Saeco, in quality (features), but worked fine, so I settled for it. Same return requirements applied thus for several weeks, money for 3 COFFEE POTS WAS OUT of my account!! JR eventually replaced the money, but I was extremely disappointed in the handling of the situation and my dealings with JR and Saeco are over. What are the odds of 2 Coffee Pots with these same defects? IMO, they sold seconds or something similar.

I purchased a Saeco Coffee grinder/maker the end of Sept 2011. It is now running continous w/o being able to turn off the grinder -- I called and found out that Saeco was bought by Phillips and they are NOT honoring warrantees on Saeco product but if I go through lots of hoops they MAY issue a refund in 3-4 weeks if they can process my order?????

Received without gold filter and carbon filter from neweggg.com

I bought a month ago and haven't used. The gold filter was missing along with carbon water filter. Newegg.com did not respond to email or customer service link. I called Saeco in Ohio and they said to call back in a few weeks as they don't have any parts for this. One would think they could have taken my name and number though rep would not though asked for order number. At $39.99 it was a decent price and I will post how it works when I try. I don't care for buttons and wonder how long it will last. My small Mr. Coffee served me well for 3 yrs and fine for 20oz cup. I'm glad I did not buy a computer from newegg becasue of their service there is no phone number to call andthey don't answer inquires or emails at least not mine and I was cordial as I know things get left out on assembly lines in China....
